Instituto Vini.Jr is the realization of a dream for Vini Jr, Real Madrid striker, but also for his family, friends, and all the staff responsible for the athlete’s career. As the player signed his first professional contract, the family began helping people and institutions in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, where Vini was born and raised. But the objective has always been to build a solid, consistent, long-term work, something that is truly transformative. Instituto Vini.Jr has three pillars:
We believe that education transforms, but to do so it needs to be a two-way street, where the interests and repertoires of students are as important as the school subjects and experiences of teachers. At the same time, it is necessary to give an opportunity for the students to recognize themselves as autonomous and responsible individuals, capable of interacting with the world and generating their own development paths. Thus, we act as facilitators of the teaching-learning process, proposing a pedagogical practice that values the experiences and stories of each child, respecting their individualities and worldviews and, therefore, building autonomy for their development.
We understand that children and adolescents are the main protagonists of a new Digital Culture, but they need to appropriate of the new information and communication technologies in a conscious, responsible and critical manner. More than handling equipment, playing games and browsing social networks, students need to perceive technology as a strategic ally in their personal development. Technology is a powerful tool that supports the building process of the student’s autonomy as, through it, we can create experiences that guarantee freedom in decision-making and the ability to make choices, leading the individual to conduct their own actions.
We define football, in the educational context, not just as a practice, but as a universal and timeless language, capable of attracting and guiding students in teaching and learning processes. The theme offers a range of connections with students’ empirical knowledge and, added to digital games or the so-called “gamification”, has the power to facilitate and stimulate learning.

Innovation hub inserted in the public school with an environment inspired by elements of football, including infrastructure, methods and training. It is a playful and plural space that allows different dynamics to the teaching-learning processes.
Data intelligence platform that allows teachers and managers to monitor the
application, involvement and performance of students.
With teacher training focused on anti-racist pedagogical practices, we are contributing to an even more empowered and conscious school environment.

Movement and Learning (Mov.A) is an innovative way of using football movements as great allies in the teaching-learning processes in public schools. In practice, the Institute created the Mov.A Kit, which brings together teaching resources, sports materials and activity sheets referenced by the BNCC. The teacher, in her daily school life, uses the kit and activities to reinforce content using football movements – thus creating a different way of teaching and learning, in addition to encouraging the practice of physical activity from an early age.
To support Brazilian public schools in building new teaching-learning models, using technology as a tool and sports as a language, in order to increase the teachers’ confidence, to make the school an attractive place for students, and to value the strengths and interests of the new generations.
To contribute directly to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4: Quality Education) and, by 2030, be recognized as one of the main agents contributing to the reduction of inequalities in the Brazilian educational system.
That social innovation presupposes Diversity and Collaboration; Education is the basis of a fair and equal society; Technology, if put to good use, connects and transforms; Sports has the power to change the world.
The Vini Jr. Institute has an unwavering commitment to promoting anti-racist education.
In response to the sad episodes of racism faced by Vini Jr. on the football fields, the Institute fights to build a more egalitarian and combative society against any type of prejudice.
Our work is focused on the grassroots, working directly in public schools, with frequent Anti-Racist Education Workshops for teachers, which multiply the anti-racist message and strengthen a conscious and active educational base. We are empowering, day by day, teachers and students, preparing them for a more diverse, respectful and racism-free future.
The Vini Jr. Institute also produced and disseminated an Anti-Racist Education Manual, which brings together theory and practice to assist education professionals in their routines.
We are certain that education has the power to transform the world. Therefore, our initiatives add to Vini Jr.’s powerful voice in the fight for a society more aware of its rights and combative in the face of any discriminatory act.
